A family holiday in the Stoder Valley

This picturesque holiday paradise is surrounded by the striking peaks of the Sensen mountains and the Tote mountain range. Nature displays its impressive variety: the landscape ranges from the Kalkalpen National Park over gentle pastures and meadows to rugged mountain peaks and seemingly never-ending karst areas. In the midst of this sublime panoramic mountain area live open-minded, kind and down-to-earth people who contribute in their own way to make your family holiday an unforgettable experience.

Active families are very welcome

We warmly welcome parents and grandparents with their adventurous offspring, who are going to spend their holidays in our 4-star hotel in Vorderstoder. Our cosily furnished family rooms are an ideal basis for a relaxing stay.

While adults leave their everyday life behind and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery of the Kalkalpen National Park, kids can let off steam on the onsite playground or discover the nearby water and forest playground.

Organised day trips and the children activity programme, called the “Stoder Valley dwarves” ensure that there is no time for boredom during your family vacation. With the adventure card you can use about 20 bonus services and 40 gratuities during your holiday.

This includes not only free use of public transport and mountain railways, but also free access to the various swimming pools in the region as well as participation in guided hiking tours.

The Stoder Valley dwarves

The Pyhrn-Priel holiday region is the right place for your dream family holiday, because here you will find a paradise for children, which is far away from busy roads and disturbing everyday noise. 11 family-friendly member companies joined forces so as to be able to cater for the specific needs and requirements of families with children. The exciting outdoor playgrounds and delicious children's menus are particularly popular with children.

But as soon as the offspring learn about the unique and varied children's programme of our member companies, they automatically gravitate to these very attractive forms of entertainment. Even the longest slide loses its appeal when it has to compete with a tractor ride experience, or a pony trekking tour, horseshoe throwing at the target or a beautiful and spooky fairy-tale reading in one of the karst caves.

Horse riding at Edtbauer’s horse farm

If you want to do some horse riding during your holiday, Edtbauer’s horse farm is the right place for you. The farm is located on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park in the picturesque climatic spa resort of Weyer. Lovers of tall and small horses get their money's worth especially during the summer and autumn seasons. Adventure, fun, games and, of course, riding are part of the holiday experience. The professional care, the time you spend with the lovely animals, the familiar atmosphere and the varied entertainment programme make your stay on this farm a very special experience. If you wish to please your children by offering them a horseback excursion, we are happy to organise this outing to Edtbauer’s farm for you.

A winter holiday with children

With its spectacular Alpine scenery, the Höss is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The ski resort in Hinterstoder is not only known as the venue of the Ski World Cup, but also for its fantastic variety of ski runs.

The gentle and easy runs are very well suited to families with children. If you haven’t yet experienced the fun of skiing you should try your first steps on skis under the guidance of a qualified skiing instructor from the ski school, which is located in the "Sunny Kids Park".

An absolute highlight in the Hinterstoder region is the natural toboggan run, which is lit up every day until 11pm if the snow conditions are appropriate. This means that you can enjoy a refreshing sledge ride down to the valley even in the late evening hours.
